Joy Nnebe

Nnebe Joy, RN, is a second-year Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) student at the University of South Alabama (USA) College of Nursing. She graduated from the University of Nigeria (UNN) with a B.S in Nursing Science. While on campus, Ms. Nnebe volunteered at the National Agency for the Control of AIDs (NACA), where she actively provided community awareness on HIV prevention and testing. She also conducted research at the UNN campus that focused on testicular self-examination.

Ms. Nnebe worked as a nurse midwife at Sacred Heart Catholic Hospital Obudu Cross River State, Nigeria, where she cared for women from pregnancy through childbirth in an underserved community. She has also worked as a registered nurse in a sub-acute care nursing home where she cared for older adults with various mental health challenges. Currently, she works with the Department of Correction and Rehabilitation Psychiatric Inpatient Program in Stockton, California.

She is an active member of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.
