Jolie Jemmott

Jolie Jemmott, MSN, RN, is a first -year Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) student at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing, in Philadelphia, PA specializing in child, adolescent, and family therapy. She currently works at the Fairmont Behavioral Health Systems, an outpatient psychiatric hospital, on the dual diagnosis unit. She developed her skills in substance use disorders in her previous job at the Recovery Centers of America’s outpatient Medicated-Assisted Treatment (MAT) clinic. Ms. Jemmott also worked at the Lankenau Medical Center’s Colorectal Surgical Stepdown Unit, which turned into a 32-bed COVID-19 unit during the pandemic. Here, she developed a strong interest in working with marginalized families.  

Ms. Jemmott graduated in May 2019 from Hampton University, in Hampton, VA where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. While at Hampton, she was selected to be a member of the Greer Dawson Wilson Student Leadership Training Program and the William R. Harvey Leadership Institute, where she mentored incoming and transfer students as well as organized multiple events around campus. She was also a member of the Hampton Student Nurses Association. Ms. Jemmott has volunteered and provided community service at local community centers, elementary schools tutoring children, and soup kitchens feeding the homeless. She is committed to giving a voice to the voiceless and hope to the hopeless by providing high-quality mental health direct services needed for various populations, especially the racial and ethnic minority vulnerable children, adolescents, and families living in marginalized communities. 

She is a member of the American Nurses Association (ANA), the American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA), and the Sigma Theta Tau’s Nursing Honor Society.
